PE & School Sport
Encouraging children to be active is very important to us at Christ the King. Physical education lessons are led by our very own sports coach – Mr Ashworth - who has the skills and knowledge required to ensure all children make good progress in their physical literacy development. The children have at least, 2 hours of PE lessons per week and take part in a broad and engaging curriculum , including attacking / defending games, gymnastics, dance and athletics.
Swimming is also taught and assessed in key stage 2, delivered by the Burnley Leisure team through the school sports partnership. We encourage the children to be active throughout the school day, whatever the weather! We also run before and after school sports clubs for all classes, on a rotating termly offer, including archery, dodgeball and active blast circuit training. CTK also work with external sport providers who deliver exciting and unique after school club programmes.
