Year 3 Home Learning
Welcome to Year 3's Learning Page
Date: Monday 18th January - Friday 22nd January
Hello my lovely Year 3's!!
I hope you all enjoyed last weeks literacy topic 'The Twits'. We loved reading all of your work!
This week I have planned some fun lessons for you all to complete.
Please try to log on to Timetable Rockstars (TTRS) and Active learn daily- we have allocated several books and maths games for you to complete. We will be checking weekly to see who has logged on and who is a time table wizard!
Please continue a page per day of your handwriting booklet. Remember to make sure it is your neatest handwriting as presentation is very important!
If you have any questions about your home learning or you want to send in your completed work including pictures please send them to your class email - I will check this regularly.
Your home learning packs are ready to be collected from school today.
Take care and have fun.
Miss Shakespeare, Miss Poole, Miss Lincoln and Miss Parkinson
This week we are going to be learning all about the first flight and the Wright brothers. This is the first of a two week unit defying gravity! Explore poems, stories and movies themed around the air and flying. Find facts and delve into the history of flight. You might possibly end up being blown away! Please click the link below.
When following links online, parents should monitor that children are remaining on that page only and are keeping safe online.
Over the next 4 weeks we are going to read a chapter per week of 'Stig of the Dump' Each chapter and questions will be included in your packs.
I suggest for you to read the chapter and underline any words you do not understand on Monday. Use the online dictionary on Tuesday and look up any words you underlined. Wednesday to Friday complete the questions.
Please practise your spellings for 10 - 20 minutes every day. Try looking the words up in a dictionary and then put them into sentences. If you haven't got a dictionary at home, ask your Mum and Dad if you can use an on-line dictionary using this link Britannica kids dictionary

This week we are learning all about statistics. We will be collecting and recording data in tally charts and graphs.
Don't forget your timetables too. I have included some extra sheets for you to practise at home daily. Good luck!
Please complete this worksheet by the end of the week!
This week we are going to learn all about the differences between: transparent, translucent and opaque. Look at the PowerPoint and then complete the worksheet. I have tried to make your science lessons as fun and practical as possible for you. Remember to email us your work - we love seeing it!
In history we are going to be learning all about the Romans! This week we are looking at Hadrian's Wall. I want you to research facts and then create a Poster all about it. I have included a PowerPoint and worksheet below that you can use to write facts when researching.
