Year 6 Home Learning
Welcome to Year 6's Home Learning Page
Date: Monday 18th January - Friday 22nd January
Hello Year 6! Thank you for all the had work you've been doing at home and thank you especially to those of you who have emailed work to us - we're very impressed by how motivated you have been. Give yourselves a pat on the back!
This week, we would like you to attempt the Maths and Literacy activities each morning. For the other subjects, try the RE on Monday, Art on Tuesday, History on Wednesday, ICT on Thursday and Science on Friday.
If you need any help, or if you want to send in your completed work including photos, please send them to your class email which will be checked daily firstname.lastname@example.org
Don't forget, packs of work are available from school if you prefer to use paper copies. If you need any other equipment such as paper or pencils, just give us a shout.
If you have left your spelling files at school, these will also be available for you to collect.
Have fun and stay safe everyone,
Mrs Kelly and Mrs Room
Your work for the next two weeks is on the theme of adventurers and explorers. You will learn what it takes to survive in the wilderness, and you will meet some of the people who have strived to explore unknown parts of the world.
Click below for everything you will need. You will find three of the texts from Love Reading for Kids in your home learning packs.
Please follow our school spelling scheme. Don't forget, if you don't have your spelling file at home it can be collected from school.
Below are the spellings for the week beginning 18.01.21
In your pack, you will find a reading booklet with questions. This is your guided reading which is continued from last week. Work on this three times per week and remember to ask an adult to help you if you find any parts of the texts a little tricky.
This week we are working on multiplication and division, including both written and mental strategies.
Keep all your mental skills sharp by attempting the 4 a Day challenges at the start of each lesson. Also, don't forget to learn your multiplication tables - concentrate this week on the 3 x and 4 x tables.
Over the next four weeks, we will be following the RE unit of work on the theme of Local Church. Below are all the resources you will need. Please complete one activity each Monday for the next four weeks.
Below is a link to daily prayers which you may like to say at home with your family.
In our topic on microorganisms this week, we are going to be looking at something which is very much in the news at the moment. We will be finding out about viruses and how we can stop their spread.
Don't forget to email your work to us - we love to see what you have been doing at home.
Please follow the instructions below or the page from your pack. We are still blogging using Purplemash 2blog
