Year 6 Home Learning
Welcome to Year 6's Home Learning Page
Monday 25th January - Friday 29th January 2021
Hello Year 6!
Thank you so much for continuing to work so hard under such difficult circumstances. We are all really proud of you. Thank you for sending in pictures of your home learning - please keep it coming! You are very welcome to send in pictures of any additional work you do at home such as baking, cooking or any art and craft. Also, if you could share pictures of interesting walks you do with your family that would be lovely - we love to se what you've been up to!
This week, we would like you to attempt the Maths and Literacy activities each morning. For the other subjects, try the RE on Monday, Art on Tuesday, History on Wednesday, ICT on Thursday and Science on Friday.
If you need any help, or if you want to send in your completed work including photos, please send them to your class email which will be checked daily firstname.lastname@example.org
Don't forget, packs of work are available from school if you prefer to use paper copies. We can also supply you with paper and pencils - just ask.
If you have left your spelling files at school, these will also be available for you to collect.
Have fun and stay safe everyone,
Mrs Kelly and Mrs Room
This will be the second week of our unit of work on adventurers and explorers. This week, find out what it takes to survive in the jungle, read a real-life jungle survival story and dive into Katherine Rundell's thrilling novel The Explorer.
Please follow our school spelling scheme. Don't forget, if you don't have your spelling file at home it can be collected from school.
Below are the spellings for the week beginning 25.01.21 Please be aware - there is a mistake in the spelling list in your spelling file. "Special" appears twice. Please add the word "especially" to your list.
In your pack, you will find a reading booklet with questions. This is your guided reading for the next two weeks. Work on this three times per week and remember to ask an adult to help you if you find any parts of the texts a little tricky.
This week we will be looking at the area and perimeter of 2D shapes.
Keep all your mental skills sharp by attempting the 4a Day Challenge at the start of each lesson. Also, don't forget to learn your multiplication tables - concentrate this week on the 5 and 6 x tables. If you would like a multiplication chart to help you at home, then please let us know and you will be able to collect one from school.
Over the next four weeks, we will be following the RE unit of work on the theme of Local Church. Below are all the resources you will need. Please complete one activity each Monday for the next four weeks.
Below is a link to daily prayers which you may like to say at home with your family.
