Year 3 Autumn 1 DOMESTIC CHURCH - FAMILY: HOMES

God is present in every home. This is expressed in the love that binds the family together within the home through good times and bad times.

•  The joys and sorrows of being a family at home

•  God’s vision for every family

YEAR 3 AUTUMN 2 BAPTISM/CONFIRMATION - BELONGING

The promises made at Baptism and Confirmation are the call to a new way of life. At Baptism and Confirmation people are welcomed and initiated into the Christian Church and supported in responding to God’s call.

In this topic, the learning outcomes were to know and understand:

  • Belonging to a group involves promises and rules
  • The meaning of the promises made at Baptism

Y3 TOPIC 2

YEAR 3 AUTUMN 2 Advent/Christmas - LOVING

In this topic we have thought about the importance of welcoming visitors. We looked at the story of the Annuciation and the VIsitation. These helped us to make links between the story of Jesus and how we can make visitors welcome today. We also learned about how important visitors can be and why we should make peole feel welcome. We have learned about:

  • How we can prepare for visitors. In particular, how we can get ready for Christ's visit to us at Christmas time.
  • How the Church gives us the season of Advent to allow us time to prepare for Christ's coming at Christmas.
